Sevilla defeated Manchester United to qualify for Quarter final.

At the Machester United side, Jose Mourinho decided to make few changes in the lineup. Lindelof, Ander Herrera, McTominay, and Mata were replaced with Bailly, Fellaini, Lingard, and Rashford respectively. Rashford scored 2 goals against Liverpool at Premier League last Saturday.

As the match started, Manchester United took an early chance of scoring. Lukaku easily bullies Kjaer away from the ball, plays a one-two with Lingard. He took the shot from the edge of the box but was high and wide to the right. At 5′ Banega brings Sanchez down to the ground with a critical sliding tackle attempt, the referee awarded him with an early YELLOW CARD.

Halftime: Manchester United 0 – 0 Sevilla

Both the teams had possession with 50% and took many attempts, but were unable to score. United have been very far from there best as they didn’t finish well with there attempts.

As the Second half started, Sarabia curls the ball into the box at 48′, Correa miss-controls the ball, which allows Bailly to clear the ball easily as Correa tried to create space for a shot. Poor gameplay by Correa as he misses a valuable goal which would have led his team to the quarters.

At 53′ Manchester United attempted a chance to score. Lukaku passes the ball inside for Lingard, who took a touch to the right before smacking a low shot across Rico and towards the bottom left. But the keeper gets a hand on it and the ball was cleared to the left. The score remained nill for both the teams. Fellaini was substituted by Lukaku at 60′, the first substitution of the match. Old Trafford remained silent as the score remained nill for there team.

Finally GOAALL..!!

The visitor team scored their first goal of the evening. Ben Yedder takes a touch to the right, slams a low shot into the bottom right from 12 yards away from the post. De Gea had no chance to save the ball.

Bad day for the red devils as the visitor team scored their second goal at 74 minutes of the game. Correa on the left-hand corner flicks it on. Ben Yedder, on the right-hand corner, heads it towards the top right. De Gea tips the ball onto the underside of the crossbar, but the ball comes down and spins over the line. The second goal for Ben Yedder, Score Manchester United 0 – 2 Sevilla. Amazing gameplay by Sevilla.

The game was again alive at 84′ as Lukaku gifted his team with their first goal of the evening. Score Manchester United 1 – 2 Sevilla.

But later on, Manchester United was unable to score the goal. Sevilla won the match with 2 away goals. Manchester United now is out of the race for UCL cup.
