Southampton v/s Stoke City

Stoke escapes Saints challenge.

Southampton faced second last of the table rivals Stoke City as the game went 0-0 at the end of the regulation period at the St. Mary’s Stadium in English Premier League(EPL) on Saturday.

The Potters had an chance when Badou N’diaye headed the ball to post but was collected by Alex McCarthy.

Both the teams were confined in the middle as they repelled each other’s attacking gameplay.

At the 77th minute, The Saints had an exceptional chance when substitute Sofiane Boufal headed from the centre of the box was close but went wide of the post.

Southampton is now 17th in the league only one point clear of relegation zone. Stoke City are now on the last second place in the league with 27 points from 29 matches.

Southampton would be facing Newcastle United on 10th March. Whereas Stoke City would be welcoming table toppers Manchester City at their home ground on 12th March.

 

Watford v/s West Bromwich Albion

Troy Deeney desTroy’s Watford, Drowns The Baggies 1-0.

Watford scrambled hapless West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at the Vicarage Road in English Premier League(EPL) on Saturday. Troy Deeney scored on 77th minute of the game to ease The Hornets beats The Baggies.

The Baggies ascended in the game as they looked more fierce on the field and made some incisive runs and passing. Grzegorz Krychowiak and Salomon Rondon both came close to score but couldn’t find the net.

Daryl Janmaat was a constant threat to the visitors.

Both teams went off the ground with the scoreline at 0-0.

After the break, home team mounted the pressure on visitors. Due to this West Brom game changed from being competitive to being sloppy. Stefano Okaka’s shot was cleared by Kieran Gibbs.

Tory Deeney made the home team seat on driver’s seat as he brought Watford into a commanding position after he struck an goal on 77th minute. His right footed shot from outside the box bulged into the net.

After this, there was no major action in the game as Watford defeated West Bromwich Albion 1-0 to bag maximum three points.

Watford has now moved to the ninth spot with 36 points from 29 matches as they have won two consecutive matches. West Bromwich Albion is at the last spot with 20 points from 29 games and would desperately need to win some of their next matches to be out of relegation team zone.

Watford would be travelling to Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on 11th March 2018. West Bromwich Albion would be playing Leicester City on 10th March 2018.
