Manchester United stays in the second position as they defeat Liverpool.
The atmosphere at Old Trafford always amplifies with Liverpool in their town. As the match starts Manchester United scored their first goal at 14′. Rashford runs onto a clever flick-on from Lukaku, shots the ball from the far post. Score 1 – 0.
A few minutes later Liverpool was with their first attempt. A real chance of equalizer for Liverpool. Firmino hangs a cross in towards the far post, but Young does just enough to put Mane off, as the winger fails to connect with De Gea scrambling to get across.
At 24′ Rashford gifted his team with another goal. As the ball rolls over into the path of Rashford, shoots the ball into the back of the net with Karius put off by the slight deflection off Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool started the half very well, as a team were able to gather some possession too. At 52′ Robertson crosses from the left. The ball hits Valencia’s left arm. The foul was not given otherwise the handball could be the cause of Liverpool’s first goal of the match.
At 68′ Manchester United gifted Liverpool with there first goal. It was a OWN GOAL by E. Bailly. Mane drives a low cross towards the post which proves at an awkward height for Bailly, who tries to clear but swivels and somehow, with his back to goal, backheels powerfully into the bottom left! De Gea gets a hand on it, but can’t stop the ball. Score 2 – 1.
Valencia was given the yellow card at 90′ for a very athletic high-kick on Mane, who was attempting to burst down the middle.
Later on no goals were scored by both the teams and the score remains 2 – 1.
With this win Manchester United stays in the second position as they defeated Liverpool at Old Trafford.
