Salah’s four on either side helps Reds jump to the 3rd spot.

Liverpool chomped down on Watford’s defence as they drowned them 5-0 in an English Premier League fixture at the Anfield Stadium on Saturday. Mohamed Salah (4’, 43’, 77’, 85’) was on a rampage as he shook the whole Watford’s defence who didn’t have any answers. Brazilian man Roberto Firmino (49’) also scored to add agony in Watford’s campaign.

From the blow of the whistle, Liverpool pressurized the opponents and kept the ball from the very first moment. It wasn’t any late as Liverpool opened their windows at the 4th minute when Salah bolted across Britos before firing the ball into the net with a low shot which went past Karnezis.

Liverpool kept on passing precisely and Salah-Firmino’s duo was like a blockage in the nose of Watford’s defence as they broke into the penalty box but couldn’t score.

At the 39th minute, Liverpool had a real chance when Mohamed Salah squared the ball to Firmino from the left. The Brazil international then went past Britos and fired a shot from the edge of the box but it was saved by Karzenis at the top corner.

Just minutes before the end of first half, Mohamed Salah doubled the lead of his team. Robertson sailed the ball towards Salah who was completely unmarked and the latter made no mistake to tap the ball into the net from the six-yard box.

After the inception of the second half, Liverpool again downpours on Watford as they are not giving a single chance and are ascending into the game. Liverpool has their third goal of the night at the 49th minute when Mohamed Salah who kept the ball just in play at the by-line passed the ball to Roberto Firmino and the Brazilian made no mistake to score with his back-heel touch.

Watford had a chance at the 53rd minute as Pereyra took the set piece. Pereyra’s shot sailed across players before hitting the crossbar.

At the 77th minute, Mohamed Salah added fuel to the fire as he scored his third goal of the night. Mohamed Salah finds the ball inside the box, picks it up and went past Watford’s defender. Salah slipped during his run but somehow managed to poke the ball which bulged into the net.

When Watford thought that Salah’s hurricane was over he scored his fourth of the night at the 85th minute. Karnezis astoundingly saved Ings’s shot but the ball fell for the Egypt international as the latter shot the ball high from the close range into the net.

After the end of the regulation period, Liverpool triumph’s over Watford with the scoreline at 5-0 after the heroics from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool has surged in the points table as they are now third in the points table with 63 points from 31 games and is 2 points behind second-placed Manchester United. Liverpool would be willing to maintain their position to qualify for the next year’s UEFA Champions League. Liverpool would be next facing Crystal Palace on March 31.

Watford would be worried a lot about their performance. They lost their last match against Arsenal with the scoreline 3-0 and now they have lost to the Reds 5-0. Watford would be facing AFC Bournemouth who is at same points but with lesser goal difference. Watford would be inviting AFC Bournemouth on March 31.
